Does this sound familiar?
When food takes up so much of your day, it's exhausting.
Maybe you've never said any of this out loud. You don't need a diagnosis, and you don't need to be "sick enough" to deserve support.
- You think about food, eating or your body almost constantly.
- You restrict to feel in control, then end up bingeing and feeling ashamed.
- You eat in secret, or feel anxious eating in front of other people.
- You use food to numb out stress, sadness or loneliness.
- You feel like you have to "make up" for what you ate.
- You check, compare or criticize your body many times a day.
- You've tried diets, plans and "starting Monday" more times than you can count.
- You're tired of fighting with yourself and want to feel free.
It doesn't have to be this way. There is a way out, and you don't have to find it alone.

Specialized care for every kind of struggle with food
My training comes from years working at one of the nation's leading eating disorder treatment centers. Here's what we can work on together.
Binge eating
Break the cycle of restricting, bingeing and shame. Understand what the binge is trying to do for you, and build gentler ways to cope.
Bulimia
Step out of the binge and purge cycle with steady, nonjudgmental support and practical skills for the moments that feel hardest.
Anorexia
Gently loosen the grip of food rules and fear. We move at a pace that feels safe, working alongside your medical and nutrition team.
Body image
As a Certified Body Image Coach, I help you quiet the constant body checking and comparison, and treat your body with more respect.
Chronic dieting
If you've been on and off diets for years, we'll untangle the rules and "food noise" so eating can feel ordinary again.
Emotional eating
Learn to notice and care for the feelings underneath, so food no longer has to be the only way to get relief.
I know what it feels like to be trapped in patterns that don't make sense. I also know that healing is possible.
Jaclyn Lee, LMFT
Why I do this work
I've been where you are.
There was a time in my life when I struggled deeply with my relationship to food. I felt disconnected from myself and desperately wanted relief from the pain. Through years of learning, self-discovery and support, I recovered from binge eating, and I'm still grateful for the freedom that healing brought into my life.
That experience shapes everything about how I work. You won't be judged, lectured or handed a meal plan and sent on your way. You'll have someone in your corner who understands, and who believes your recovery is possible.
How we'll work together
Therapy rooted in mindfulness and self-compassion
We are almost always thinking about the past or the future, and that's often when people turn to food. Together, we slow the internal chatter, get to the core of what's driving your eating, and begin to heal it.
Mindfulness
Come back to the present moment, notice urges without acting on them, and let difficult feelings settle.
Self-compassion
Replace the harsh inner critic with a kinder voice, which research shows supports lasting recovery.
DBT and CBT skills
Evidence-based tools for riding out urges, handling strong emotions and challenging the rules that keep you stuck.
Expressive arts
Trained in art, music, movement and drama therapy, I can offer creative ways in when words aren't enough.

Common questions
Questions you might be asking
Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?
No. Many of my clients have never been diagnosed. If your relationship with food or your body is causing you distress, that's reason enough to reach out.
Is online therapy effective for eating disorders?
Yes. Virtual therapy is an effective option for many people, and it often makes it easier to show up consistently. You can join from home, your car or anywhere private.
Who do you work with?
My practice focuses on adult women in California who are struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating and body image. I also support women with low self-esteem, low mood and relationship challenges.
Will I have to follow a meal plan or weigh myself?
Therapy with me focuses on the thoughts, feelings and patterns underneath your eating. If a dietitian or physician would help, I'm happy to coordinate with them, and we'll always talk openly about what feels right for you.
What if I need more support than weekly therapy?
We'll talk about it honestly. Because of my background at a treatment center, I know the different levels of care well and can help you find the right support if you need it.
What happens on the free consultation call?
It's a relaxed, 15-minute conversation. I'll ask a little about what's bringing you to therapy, share how I work and answer your questions. There's no obligation to book.
Still wondering if this is right for you? Let's talk it through.
